The Anacortes Schools Foundation is forming a funding subcommittee that will identify funding sources and raise monies, through grant writing, fund-raising events and solicitation, to support school activities. Specifically, this funding will support:

1. Enrichment grants. Programs and projects identified within the district as important and necessary, but which are unfunded through the normal funding channels.
2. Disadvantaged children. This would be a fund establish to provide monies for disadvantaged kids (those qualifying for free or reduced lunch) for sports fees, school supplies, field trip fees, yearbook and other such things that they may not be able to be provided due to a disadvantaged status.
3. Endowments for scholarships to further the core work of the foundation.
