While students and families are off playing in the water, visiting libraries for summer reading, and soaking up the sun here or elsewhere, ASF board members, too, take a short break in July to spend time with their families, to travel, and to ready themselves for what we know will be a fabulous school year: a refueling, if you will.

Speaking of readying and refueling, our committee members have not stopped working on two of our favorite events: Ready to Learn Fair and HF Sinclair’s Fueling Education Fun Run Sinclair's Fueling Education Fun Run. Registration is open for both events:

Check out how you can help our students show up on their first day of school with confidence, either by donating or volunteering.

Here are AHS alum Ava and Wesley, both UW students, doing their part to give back to their community by putting together backpack supply kits. We’re still looking for a few strong bodies to help us set up for the fair. Contact Amanda Cardinale at amanda@asfkids.org for more information.

We have also not stopped our scholarship work. Summer keeps us (dedicated board members Gary and Amanda, along with Treasurer Sarah) busy sending checks to universities and colleges around the country. Congratulations again to our incredibly deserving recipients!

Finally, in between work and pleasure travel, spending time with returning college kids, and taking care of our own health and that of our families, we are already hard at work to bring you our best every Celebrate the Season Gala. Stay tuned for exciting updates.
