March 2026

Lambs. Lions. Shamrocks. The Ides. March connotes many icons and traditions. It’s Women’s History Month. But did you know it’s also Music in Our Schools Month? And National Reading Month? ASF has a hand in the art, music, and even literacy enrichment that accompanies much of the learning happening this month.

Also this month, we are gearing up for scholarship season. We meet with high school counselors and talk to the senior class about the 100+ scholarships available this year, to the tune of more than $500,000. Applications open April 1.

Our Fundraising and Marketing team is busy finalizing our annual newsletter which celebrates the programs we support and the donors and partners who help make what we do possible. It's appropriate in March for ASF to feel extremely “lucky” for our generous sponsors.

We are excited to announce that if you give during our giving campaign through May 1, every dollar you donate will be generously matched up to $5,000 by an anonymous donor. They will designate their match to support the arts. You can designate your giving to one of our specific areas of support or simply give where most needed. Look for our newsletter in your mailbox next month and please consider making a donation to double your impact.

Finally, a peak into one of our most popular programs: MoNA Link. Elementary students get two field trips to the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner AND two classroom visits from local artists. Here’s a Fidalgo class during one of their field trips and then proudly displaying their origami projects from a classroom visit.
